The owners, Andrea and Lynde McCormick , after living in China for 2 years, have traveled to China three times each year since 1997 "to personally choose only those pieces that I would put in my own home," says Andrea. These pieces include furniture, accessories and Han, Tang and Ming artifacts. Andrea and Lynde are among the leading authorities on late Qing Dynasty furniture (1780-1920) and are the authors of two beautiful coffee table books on the subject, one of which is in it's 2nd printing due to popularity.Their books, "Chinese Country Antiques" and "Old China New Style", can be purchased through their store or on Amazon.com. Chinese dealers world-wide have emailed the McCormicks and thanked them for these books which have provided an education about the pieces they sell, and serve as handbooks for their customers.

In 1997 the McCormicks started their business in Boston by showing their furniture, accessories and artifacts in Shreve, Crump and Low's antique's department. The McCormick's pieces were featured on more than one cover of Antique's magazine, and were often displayed prominently in the store's windows. The McCormick's discovered the antique show circuit was a good venue and participated in as many as 36 of the finest shows a year, as far south as Palm Beach and as far west as Chicago. After realizing that New Yorkers comprised their largest client base, they moved their business to New York in 2001. In July 2003 they found a beautiful two-story gallery with a garden at 973 Lexington Avenue and have been there ever since.
